Please read this about the role of the forex demo account. There are many forex brokers that offer free demo accounts on the internet and not all of them use the software we suggest from MetaTrader 4 (MT4). But, I will tell you from experience that the forex broker's servers are NOT all the same and there are little quirks that sometimes work for and against the forex investor at times. Factors like the pips spreads, fractional pricing quotes, expert advisor interactions, and world wide news events are important everyday occurances that can make or break your trading account.
Some expert advisors are developed for a particular broker server (tested during development) and yet are sold to the general public not realizing that the expert advisor may or may not operate exactly as designed and back tested before going public. They use your first hand live forex trading experience (good or bad) as a way for them to work out the bugs at your expense. That is why it is very important that you ask the vendor seling those EAs those questions and still you are well advised to pre-test any expert advisor on the forex broker demo account FIRST before you risk your hard earned risk capital.
WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH A DEMO ACCOUNT
1. Once you decide which broker to try out, load the MT4 software onto your computer, open a free demo account using the popup first menu offer, set up your demo account using a name that signifies what you are doing. So, if you are going to run EA XYZ, it is easy to remember the name XYZ compared to the actual account number that is issued by the broker.
2.
